Daniel Conroy, Jr. Obituary

With love and gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Daniel Joseph Conroy, Jr. announces his peaceful passing in 2025.

Born and raised in Hoboken, Daniel held a deep love for his hometown and was proud to be one of the founding members of The Monroe Buddies Club, where he built bonds and friendships that lasted a lifetime.

A devoted and hardworking Teamster, Daniel excelled as a tractor-trailer driver and was known as “the best” by those who worked alongside him. His several multi-million-mile awards for safe driving reflected not just his skill, but his commitment, discipline, and dedication to providing for his family.

Daniel was a man who loved deeply and laughed easily. He was known for his sharp wit, playful spirit, and the way he could light up a room with humor. He had a unique gift of connecting with anyone—whether through a joke, a story, or a shared moment of laughter. He cherished his trips to Atlantic City, but more than anything, he cherished the time spent with those he loved.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Carol (née Dyson), and his three sons, Daniel (Donna), Anthony (Jill), and Ronald (Denise). Though he experienced deep loss, his strength, resilience, and love for his family never wavered.

Daniel’s legacy lives on through his four sons, Michael (Chris Anne), David (Helene), Thomas (Dhafne), and Mark (Dina); his brothers Michael and Thomas; and his sister-in-law Lorraine. He was a proud grandfather to twenty grandchildren and a joyful great-grandfather to thirteen great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense pride and happiness.

In his later years, Daniel made his home at Atlas Healthcare in Maywood, New Jersey, where he developed meaningful friendships and was well-loved by staff and fellow residents alike.

He will be remembered for his humor, his heart, his courage, and above all, his love—for family, friends, and the simple joys of everyday life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Daniel’s memory to his favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
