Dennis “Pop” Lovatt, Sr. passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of memories with those who loved him most. He was born on February 7, 1947, in Jersey City, New Jersey, at Margaret Hague Hospital to the late John and Helen (née Magill) Lovatt.
Dennis was the beloved husband of the late Judy (née Torres). He was a devoted father to Dawn, Dennis and his wife, Jennifer, Julie and her husband, Charles, Michelle and her husband, Joseph, and Naja and her husband, Reggie. He was an incredibly proud grandfather to Joseph and his wife, Madelayne, Priscilla, Angel, Isabella, Patti, Natalia, Marcos, and Shanya; and a loving great-grandfather to Scarlett, Damian, and Aiden.
Dennis was predeceased by his siblings Sonny, Eddie, and Joan; but is survived by his loving siblings Phyllis, Robert, and Richie, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. Dennis will also be fondly remembered by his longtime friends, including Puerto Rican Pete and Henry “My Way,” along with many other friends whose lives he touched throughout the years.
Dennis was a man who found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a passion for bowling, enjoyed trying his luck playing the lottery, and loved traveling to Atlantic City and spending time at the Jersey Shore in Seaside Heights. Dennis was also known for his ability to fix just about anything and proudly ran his own business, Denny Dee’s LLC, where he put his handyman skills to work helping others.
Above all else, Dennis was a dedicated family man whose love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was constant and unwavering. His presence, laughter, and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
