DONALD ALINGTON LLOYD

Donald Lloyd transitioned from this life on May 1, 2023. Donald was born in the Carribean Islands (Liberta, Antigua) to the late David Lloyd known as “Panytle” and the late Gwendolyn Beatrice Charles.
Donald was educated and grew up to be very independent and self-sufficient. He was trained by the Antiguan government and worked in the military until he was endorsed by the government into the medical field as a nurse. Later he transferred into the Antiguan Police Department.
He loved to travel throughout the British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts, and finally settled in the United States. Donald professed Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined the Church of God of Prophecy. After arriving in the United States, he joined the Church of God of Prophecy of Englewood, New Jersey under the leadership of Bishop Trevor Clemmings. He worked as Security for Jersey City State College where he met and later married Linda Winston of East Orange, New Jersey on July 18, 1992.
Although he fathered many children, Kingsley Lloyd and Geraldine Rubena Lloyd-Stammers and her family were by his side from the onset of illness until his transition.
He leaves to remember him, his wife Linda Lloyd; two sisters, Pauline Browne and Agnes Lloyd; two brothers, Monroe Charles and Canute Potter; 16 children including Kingsley Lloyd and Geraldine Rubena Lloyd-Stammers; 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation for Donald will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home (For GPS, please use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306). Funeral services are Friday, May 12, 2023, 10:00 AM at First Wesleyan Church, 201 Woodlawn Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07305. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery, Linden.
