Donato P. “Danny” Savino, 75, of Jersey City, entered into eternal life on May 20, 2026, at Jersey City Medical Center, with his loving family by his side. Born in Naples, Italy, on February 21, 1951, Danny made Jersey City his home, where he spent most of his life surrounded by family and friends.
Danny was a devoted educator and spent many years teaching at Ferris High School, where he touched countless lives with his patience, kindness, and quiet strength. He retired at age 60, grateful for the opportunity to enjoy more unhurried time with the people he loved most.
Above all else, Danny was a family man. His greatest joy in life was being with his wife, children, and beautiful grandchildren. Whether it was a simple family meal, a holiday gathering, or just sitting together and talking, those moments meant everything to him. His love for his family was constant, generous, and unwavering.
Danny also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Cody, whose companionship brought him comfort and joy each day. The two were rarely apart and truly enjoyed spending their days together.
Danny is survived by his mother, Carmela Savino; his devoted wife, Magda; and his beloved children: Danielle Savino-Garzon and her husband, Michael; Marissa Savino-Gonzalez and her husband, Robert; and Paul Savino and his wife, Deanna. He will be forever cherished by his precious grandchildren: Sophia and Olivia Garzon; Isabella and Gia Gonzalez; and Luca and Lucia Savino, who brought endless light to his life.
He is also survived by his siblings: Maria Meyer and her husband, Raymond; Carlo Savino and his wife, Jennifer; Assunta DeSantis-Savino; and Ciro Savino. Danny leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins, and dear friends, all of whom will remember his warmth, gentle humor, and generous heart.
Danny’s life was defined by love, loyalty, and quiet devotion. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love he gave will live on in all who were blessed to know him.
