Dorothy "Dottie" Minichiello

June 2, 1929 ~ January 8, 2021 (age 91)

Obituary

Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt Dorothy Minichiello “Dottie” (née Lebert), age 91, passed away peacefully the morning of January 8th, 2021. She was born June 2nd 1929 in Jersey City to Oliver and Jenny Lebert (née Jacobsen). She married the love of her life Angelo Minichiello on May 2nd 1952.

She led an amazing life filled with such joy, and happiness that she radiated an atmosphere of love and generosity. Everyone who knew Dorothy knew that she was the epitome of kindness. She was effortlessly skilled at caring for anyone and everyone. She loved with everything she had, she loved fiercely, with every fiber of her being she exuded an essence of love and warmth. She couldn’t help being the most remarkable person whilst still remaining the most humble.

Lifelong patron of Mt. Carmel where she exercised her devotion, and passion to her faith every Sunday. Beloved member of the 50/50 plus club where she was adored by all. She was a revered singer in the choir which was very precious to her, while also being an active contributor at the Actors Factory where she displayed one of her true talents of performing.

She raised three beautiful sons, Ralph, Steven & Jeffrey, she was married for 68 years to her incredible husband Angelo, she helped raise her three grandchildren, Kristen, Lauren & Brandon, with whom she cherished unconditionally. Affectionate Mother-in-law to Cheryl Minichiello with whom she considered represented the best parts of being a daughter, Doting sister to the late Mildred Bolger (née Lebert) and survived by her eldest loving sister Marie Johnson (née Lebert). She was a caring aunt, cousin, & godmother to so many throughout her life. Also survived by Jody Longo whom she regarded as a daughter, as well as Renee Becker to whom she became a mother figure.

Dorothy’s happiness lied with her family, her strength came from the love that surrounded her. Just seeing her family being together would always put a smile on her face, it was all she ever really wanted. She was the glue that held our family together, and now that she is gone it will be our job to carry on her legacy.
