Dr. Herminio Apostol Magno

Dr. Herminio Apostol Magno was born on January 5, 1942, to the union of Crisologo and Ursula Magno in San Rafael, Cateel, Davao Oriental, Philippines. He moved to Jersey City with his family in 1984. 

Herminio accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Cateel, Davao Oriental.  Herminio received his formal education at Cebu Institute of Medicine.  After graduation, he served as a physician at San Pedro Hospital in Davao City where he met the love of his life and long-time wife, Florita.  To this union were born his two sons, Cyril Paul and Tristan Mark. 

Herminio departed this life on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at the age of 81.  He was preceded in death by his parents Crisologo and Ursula and his siblings Cuadrato, Basanio, Erlito, Florito Gersacio, and Jereza.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Florita Dayanghirang Tamayo-Magno of Davao City; his sons, Cyril (Romelyn); Tristan (Tricia); one brother, Enecio, and one sister, Lerma.  Grandchildren: McKenzie, Marcus, Morgan, Eloise, Eliana, and Elijah.  All his nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation is on Friday, July 28, 2023, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306 (For GPS Navigation, it is best to use our parking lot entrance address: 14 Stagg St., Jersey City).  Funeral will begin on Saturday, July 29, 2023 with a visitation 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church, 511 Pavonia Ave., Jersey City, NJ 07306.  Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 AM.  Entombment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
