Dr. Magno Nuqui Jr. Obituary

In Loving Memory of Magno Manansala Nuqui, Jr.
April 29, 1934 – July 11, 2025

Dr. Magno Manansala Nuqui, Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, left us peacefully on July 11th, 2025, at the age of 91, surrounded by his closest family.

Born and raised in Macabebe, Pampanga, Philippines, to parents Salome Manansala Nuqui and Magno Nuqui, Sr., Magno led a life defined by perseverance, generosity, and quiet strength. After earning his medical degree from Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation in 1962, he embarked on a bold journey in 1963 to the United States, settling in New Jersey in search of a better life. With unwavering determination, he not only built a successful life for himself but also helped bring all of his siblings and mother to the U.S., creating a strong foundation for generations to come.

Magno dedicated 36 years to the practice of anesthesiology, earning the respect of his colleagues and the gratitude of countless patients. His work ethic, compassion, and commitment to excellence were the pillars of his career.

He was the proud father of three daughters - Sharon, Denise and Chrisy, whom he shared with his late wife, Janet, until her passing in 1986. In 1988, he found love again and married Araceli, his devoted wife of 37 years. She is the mother and Lola (grandmother) that the family cherishes.

In 1999, Magno and Araceli retired to Palm Beach, Florida, where they found great happiness. Their days were filled with time by the ocean, friendly rounds of golf, and sharing cherished family memories in their beautiful home. In 2022, they moved back to New Jersey to be closer to their children, grandchildren and family members, bringing with them a lifetime of memories and the same love of family that had always guided them.

Magno is survived by his beloved wife, Araceli; his daughters, Denise Nuqui and Chrisy Angelini (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Josh Nuqui (Taylor), Vincent Angelini III (Andrea), Matthew Sinno (Klajdi) and Kiarra Angelini; his great-granddaughter, Lyla Nuqui; his siblings, Carmelita Bautista, Pete Nuqui (Josie), Anna Mansanque (Eric); and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts. Magno is preceded in death by his late wife, Janet, his eldest daughter, Sharon Nuqui-Hatchett, brothers, Manolo and Ernesto, and sister, Carol.

He will be remembered for his steady presence, his deep love for family, and his quiet, unwavering support that meant everything to those who knew him.

A memorial in remembrance of Magno’s life will be held on Friday, July 18th. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family at 9:30 AM with mass to follow at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church at 22 Hackensack Ave., Weehawken, NJ 07086 in honor of Magno.
