Edgar P Abesamis

Edgar P. Abesamis, 54, of Jersey City, New Jersey, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 7, 2026.

Born on May 21, 1972, in New York, New York, Edgar was the beloved son of Michael and Fely Abesamis. He spent his early years in New York before moving to Jersey City while in high school, a city that would become home for him and his family.

Edgar attended Saint Peter’s Prep in Jersey City before continuing his education at Pace University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree. Following college, Edgar went on to open his own real estate business, a reflection of his ambition, determination, and strong work ethic.

Edgar will be remembered as a loving, caring, loyal, and funny man who loved his family deeply. He was also a man of God, and his faith was an important part of his life.

He had many interests and passions, including tennis, Jiu Jitsu, hiking, and modifying cars. Whether spending time outdoors, enjoying a good match, training, or working on cars, Edgar found joy in the things that challenged and inspired him.

Above all, Edgar’s greatest love was his family. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, a cherished son, and a beloved brother. The love he shared with those closest to him will remain forever in their hearts.

Edgar is survived by his beloved wife, Viviana Abesamis; his cherished son, Evan Noah Abesamis; his loving parents, Michael and Fely Abesamis; his dear brother, Americus Abesamis; and many relatives, friends, and loved ones.

Though Edgar’s passing comes far too soon, his memory will continue to live on through the love of his family, the lives he touched, and the many memories shared by those who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306. Cremation will be private.
