Edwin Reynolds, 82, of Jersey City, formerly of Jamaica, passed away on August 15, 2019.
Edwin affectionately called Eddie was born on February 7, 1937 in Parson Reid, Westmoreland, Jamaica, W.I. to Louise Beckford and Moses Reynolds. In 1957 Eddie emigrated from Jamaica to the United States and settled in Florida and later made his permanent residency in New Jersey. There he met the love of his life Bernice Samuels, and mother of his only child Ivy Daniels-Morris fondly known as Nicky.
Eddie worked at the Steel Corporation in Newark, New Jersey for over thirty years until retirement.
Eddie is predeceased by his father Moses Reynolds, mother Louise Becford, step-mother Julet Reynolds, and three brothers Oswald, Nelson, and Nehemiah, and sister Virdie. Eddie is survived by brothers Clement, Clarence, Walter, and Anthony, and sisters Norma, Ellen, Emily, Muriel, Verda, and Melora, daughter Ivy and Mark Morris, and two grandchildren Quran Butler, and Kayla Morris.
Eddie will be dearly missed for the kindness he showed to others, his jovial ways, and willingness to always help anyone who was in need. His home in New Jersey was a refuge for everyone.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City. (For GPS navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City).
