Eleanor Tamayo Angeles

Eleanor T. Angeles, lovingly known as "Leny," a resident of Jersey City, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025. She was born on December 31, 1935, in Manila, Philippines, to the late Manuel J. Tamayo and Maria Yrissary.

Leny worked in banking and also volunteered with Easter Seals. She attended Adamson University and Aurora Fashion School.

She was known for her generous heart, warm spirit, and ever-present smile. Leny was fond of handing out heart-shaped papers that read, "God is Love."

She is survived by her only child, Virgilio; her daughter-in-law, Juvy; and her grandchildren, Patricia and Virgil. She is also survived by her sisters Lily, Pines, Linda, and Cherry, as well as her brothers Manny and Abeland.

Leny was predeceased by her beloved husband, Florentino. They were married for over 60 years before his passing in 2021

She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and the lasting impression she left on everyone around her.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Riotto Funeral Home and Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ, 07306 (for GPS it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg St. Additional parking can be found on Kennedy Blvd.) Cremation will be private.
