Enues M. Villacres, 70, of Jersey City; formerly of Ecuador; entered into rest on Sunday, October 10, 2021.
A few words from the son, Luis:
" Enues immigrated to America to reunite with her husband in the late nineteen hundreds for a better life and opportunity. Together they built a new and better life, a life they never imagined. The change of culture and new holidays was something both my parents adapted to quite fondly. They loved this country as if they were natives of it. As a child, I really didn’t have direct relatives in this country. We adopted our friends and neighbors and from that forged a special bond that till this day exists. We are privileged to have them in our lives today. When I was about 10 years old, my parents ushered in a whole new ancestry into this beautiful country over night, I had aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins in a blink of an eye. My parents are largely known for being kind and generous. They were the driving force that led friends and family to progress towards their goals. Today because of this unselfish act we have a huge and amazing family. They say behind every great man there is a great woman. This could not be any further from the truth. After my father passed away I saw a side of my mother I’ve never seen. I saw faith, passion, commitment and determination to succeed. Through it all I never saw fear, just strength. My mother always gave me advice, and even though it didn’t make sense at the time, the older I got the more it did, we call that life lessons. My mother always pushed me to be better. Every time I accomplished my goals I would seek her approval, and every time she would push me to be better. My mother would always say “it’s not easy." I would always tell her to stop being negative. For the longest I didn’t understand that term, “it’s not easy”. It was only when I truly started becoming successful that I finally understood that term, “it’s not easy”. My mother knew that if you wanted to succeed in life, “it was not going to be easy”. You have to work hard to possess discipline, dedication, and determination in order to achieve what you want in life. In conclusion, we are all gathered here today not only to pay our respects to Enues Villacres, but because of her life lessons she taught her children, friends and family. Remember what my mother taught me, in order to succeed in life there is no way around hard work."
