Ermine L. Beadle
Ermine Louise Beadle was born in Westmoreland parish; Jamaica, West Indies on April 28th, 1934 to parents Mary and James Clarke. Surrounded by her loving family, she made her final journey from this earthly life on Saturday, October 11th, 2025 at the glorious age of 91.
Ermine Louise was the sixteenth (16th ) and youngest child born to her parents. She would probably be the first to say, “that’s a nice number." While growing up, Ermine had several interests; she loved school, especially anything with numbers, singing, piano lessons, sewing and Old Jim’s (her father) horse, Focus. Even in her later days, she was filled with emotion as she recounted the life and death of Focus. She left school early to help care for her then dying mother. Major changes came in early adulthood through motherhood and leaving “the country” for the big city of Kingston. It was during her shift at the Allman Town post office where she first met and later married Stanley Beadle.
In 1970, her husband, Stanley, emigrated to America as he wanted to provide greater opportunities for his family. Ermine, along with her 3 youngest children followed a year later and they settled in Hoboken, New Jersey. Through the miracle of Grace, she eventually reunited with her 2 older children some years later. After her arrival in America, Ermine first worked for St. Joseph Home for the blind. She later landed a job with Hoboken’s St. Mary Hospital as a Nurse’s Aide, where she remained for 26 years until her retirement. Taking care of sick people was not just a job to her, it was a true calling. At home, she often expressed either concern or happiness about the welfare of a particular patient under her care. She took such pride knowing she was able to help someone in the hospital or their family get through a challenging time.
To Ermine, her reason for being, was love of family and friends. She was the heart of her family and made a second job of staying in touch with family as well as friends. If you needed to know someone’s birthday, phone number, address, or even a social security number occasionally, Ermine could recite it from her memory most of the times.
Ermine was a devoted and loving wife to her late husband, Stanley Beadle, and a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and mother-in-law. Her kindness, wisdom, and gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her warmth, and her ability to make everyone feel at home and loved. Ermine firmly believed in the power of God and prayer. Her most often repeated sayings were “God is looking down” and “I’m putting all my trust in the Lord”. The very last words she said were “Lord have mercy on me”.
Ermine was the last living child of Mary & James Clarke. Ermine’s legacy of love and compassion lives on through her family, children, Delroy Rose, Joan Rose Samuels, Jacqueline Beadle, Barrington Beadle, Dave Beadle and Marie Beadle Chambers. Grandchildren, Azzeiza Beadle, Nile Beadle, Barrington Beadle, Jr., Seth Beadle, Trenton Briggs, Eian John, Paul Chambers, Luke Chambers, Michelle Rose, Delroy Rose, Jr., Darnel Rose, Jermaine Rose, Tiffany Rose Boseman, Barrington Samuels, Jr., Brianna Samuels, Chaplain Pauline Rose Moore, Miriam (Mimi) Rose. Many great- grandchildren, daughters & sons in-law, great nieces and nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Beadle (just 5 months ago), son, Collin
Beadle and granddaughter, Ashleigh Patrice Rose.
