Francis Michael Phillips

Francis Michael Phillips of Jersey City New Jersey, has passed away from natural causes on January 6, 2025 at the age of 88.

He is survived by his wife Martha, brother David, sons Morgan and Javier, grandson Daniel, Ex Wife and best friend Rosemary, and a large extended family in his native land of Great Britain. He is the son of Francis and Ada Phillips of London England; his place of birth and early life.

 After a brief service in the British Army, Francis emigrated to Canada in the1950s. Expecting a life of working class drudgery in London, Francis intrepidly escaped to a place more welcoming and rewarding of his innate talents and abilities. Eventually settling in New York City, Francis, a natural polymath, worked in multiple industries, developing his engineering and problem-solving skills to a high degree.

Generous with his talents, people across the world have benefited from his efforts, especially in the area of renovation and construction. Going far beyond the average, Francis’ works live on in the many homes and apartments he expertly restored with his hands, heart, and mind. A loving Father, Dutiful husband, and engaging friend, Francis was the epitome of class and a true Gentleman, elevating every group that had the honor of including him. 

A natural adventurer, Francis has traveled the world for both business and pleasure, enlightening and entertaining people with his great wit, charming personality, and Can-do attitude. Very spiritual in nature, gentle and loving in his soul, brilliant in mind and intelligence, the world is a better place for him having lived in it.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd , Jersey City, NJ 07306 (For GPS navigation it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City). Cremation will be private.
