Frank "CoCo" Catanio

Frank "CoCo" Catanio, 85, a lifelong resident of Jersey City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. 

Born to Italian immigrants, Antionetta and Frank, the second eldest of 9. Frank began work at a young age as a baker in downtown Jersey City. He worked as an electrician before making his livelihood in professional gaming. He belonged to several Italian organizations and enjoyed playing cards with his friends. He was authentic and no one brought more intrigue and controversies into a card game than Frank. His mantra was "You guys just don't know how to play cards!" 

Frank's family was his pride and joy. They reflect the prideful, kind and beautiful human being he really was. 

Frank was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Andrea Lynn Catanio in 1995. His siblings, John and Camille. 

He is survived by his former wife, Katherine Merezio His loving children, Frank Catanio, John Catanio and his wife Chrisjohnna (Nee Marto), and his loving daughter Doreen Catanio and her husband Matthew Hinzpeter. His cherished grandchildren, Serena , Andrew, Jacqueline Rose, Briana, Casandra, Zachary, Juliana, and John Jr. His dear siblings, Mario, Anthony and his wife Lisa, Paul, Maryann, Nancy, and Richie. Also surviving are many beloved nieces and nephews. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home (For GPS, please use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg St., Jersey City). Friends and family are invited to gather at the funeral home on Saturday, July 23, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow, 11:00 AM at St. Aedan's Church, Jersey City. Cremation will be private.
