With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Freddie Mitchell, affectionately known as “Man Man,” who departed this life on June 23, 2025, in his hometown of Jersey City, New Jersey, at the age of 30.
Born on March 1, 1995, in Jersey City, Man Man brought immeasurable light and joy into the lives of everyone who knew him. Born with cerebral palsy, he faced life’s challenges with strength, grace, and a radiant spirit that inspired all who loved him.
Man Man was best known for his beautiful personality—pure, joyful, and filled with love. He had a contagious smile and gave the warmest hugs that lingered long after they ended. His passions made him unforgettable: he loved playing the piano, listening to hip-hop, and watching his favorite shows like Paw Patrol, Maury, and Family Feud. His bond with his beloved cat Numb Numb brought him constant joy and companionship.
Man Man’s love for his family was unmatched. He is survived by his parents, Freddie Angel Tyler and Tanesha Mitchell, and stepmother Christine; his siblings Raven Mitchell, Destiny Tyler, Annie Mitchell, and Andrew Perry. Also surviving is his Grandma, Lilian Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his cherished grandparents Nancy and Harry Edman, and Jacqueline Tyler.
Though Man Man’s time here was short, his love, laughter, and light will echo forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
A memorial service to honor Freddie’s life will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. All who knew and loved him are invited to join in celebration of a life that brought so much warmth and wonder to the world.
