Gary Colello

The family of Gary Colello, 74, of Weehawken, New Jersey, is saddened to announce his passing on August 28, 2026. Gary retired after many years of working as a security attendant at the Meadowlands Sports Complex. Gary was an avid train enthusiast.  He often attended train shows with his friend, Jimmy, and spent much of his time at the Ridgefield Hobby Shop.  Gary will be remembered as a fun and  loving person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.

Gary was the beloved son of the late Louis and Elaine (nee Jacobs) Colello. He is survived by his loving children, Antoinette Aguiar, Lisa Colello, Gary Colello, Jr., Christopher Colello and Nicholas Colello and his cherished grandchildren, Abrianna Aguiar, Natalie Aguiar, Thomas Colello, Cylus Colello, and Myles Colello.

He is survived by his sister, Karen Colello, and predeceased by his brother, Glenn Colello. Gary leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends and his lifelong companion, Bernadette Michalkowski, along with her children and grandchildren, who were an important part of his life.

Family and friends are invited to gather in Gary’s memory on Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ 07306. (For GPS Navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gary’s memory can be made to Heart & Vascular Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center.
