George S. Demetrios

George S. Demetrios, 69, of Bayonne, formerly of Jersey City passed away on October 15, 2023.

George was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed helping anyone who was in need.  

He was motorcycle enthusiast who was given the nickname "The Machine" and loved riding his Harley with friends.  George was a member of Central Jersey Motorcycle Riding Group and mentored many of its members.

He was treasurer of his residential club and was very active with their food pantry.

Everyone who knew George loved his sense of humor and his generous heart. He enjoyed sharing memories of his youth in Greece and the lifetime of adventures with his friends in the Greek community.  

George was the loving son of the late Athena and Vasilios Demetrios; dear brother of the late John Demetrios.  Also survived by many dear friends.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, October 27, 2023, 11:00 AM at Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church, 661 Montgomery St., Jersey City, NJ 07306.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church.
