Gina DiMatteo

Gina DiMatteo, 92, of Garwood, NJ, formerly of Gioia, Salerno, Italy, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022.

Gina was born on May 3, 1930 in Gioia, Salerno, Italy, to the late Francesco and Teresa D'Urso. She was one of eight

 children.

Gina later found the love of her life (late) Luigi DiMatteo and moved to the U.S on July 7, 1961 and settled in Jersey City, NJ.  She worked as a seamstress before retiring. Gina was a loving mother, who loved spending time with her 3 children. She enjoyed cooking and planting flowers in her garden.

Gina is survived by her 3 children; Lino and his wife Deborah DiMatteo, Gennaro and his wife Nora DiMatteo, daughter Maria and husband Richard Verso. Grandchildren; Stephen, Brandon DiMatteo. Predeceased by her late husband, mother(Teresa ) father (Francesco) and eight siblings. She was also a loving aunt, to many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Riotto Funeral Home (For GPS please use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg St., Jersey City, NJ 07306). Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul of the Cross Church, 156 Hancock Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07307. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum, North Arlington, NJ.
