Giuseppe Pizza, 76, of Jersey City, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 17, 1948 in Monte San Giacomo, Italy, Giuseppe came to the United States at the age of 17 alongside his family, in pursuit of new opportunities and a brighter future. They settled in Jersey City, where Giuseppe remained a proud resident for the rest of his life, and was a self employed general contractor. Giuseppe was a member of the Monte San Giacomo Club for many years in Hoboken, NJ.
Giuseppe was the beloved husband of Giovanna Pizza (née Baratta), with whom he shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. The couple met in 1969, and after a brief but heartfelt courtship, they were married in 1970. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and community.
He was the devoted father of Raffaela Bartels (husband Brian Bartels) and Anthony Pizza (wife Natalie), and the cherished grandfather of Jayson Bartels, Bryan Bartels, and Giuseppe Pizza. Spending time with his grandchildren brought him immense joy, and he was often found laughing, playing, or sharing stories with them.
Giuseppe is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. He is now reunited in eternal rest with his parents, Antonio and Raffaela Pizza, and his dear brothers, Angelo and Michele.
Giuseppe lived a vibrant and full life. Known for his fun-loving personality, he brought energy and laughter wherever he went. He was a man who always spoke the truth, and his candid nature made him a trusted friend and confidant to many. He had a deep passion for soccer, especially his favorite team, Juventus, and he could often be found cheering them on with great enthusiasm.
His greatest joy, however, was his family. Giuseppe loved spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren. Whether he was sharing a meal, enjoying family gatherings, or simply watching videos on his phone with his daughter-in-law, his happiest moments were always with the people he loved most.
Giuseppe’s life was a testament to hard work, love, and dedication to family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
