Gloria Jean De Voe, of Jersey City, entered eternal rest on August 20, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion.
Born on April 3, 1949, in Hoboken, New Jersey, Gloria was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas De Voe and Christine Janssen. She grew up in Hoboken, where her vibrant spirit and magnetic personality began to shine, and later settled in Jersey City, where she made her home since 1998.
Gloria lived her life with boundless generosity and a heart that never stopped giving. Known for opening her doors and welcoming others in, she became a source of comfort, stability, and love for many. Her love for family was immeasurable. She cherished time spent at the dinner table, whether at home or out at a favorite restaurant, laughing, sharing stories, and celebrating life with those she adored.
Her personality was unforgettable: outgoing, funny, loud, loving, and fiercely caring. Gloria gave endlessly of herself without ever asking in return, embodying the true spirit of selflessness. She was the one you could count on to bring light to a room, comfort in hard times, and laughter when it was needed most.
Gloria leaves behind a legacy of love carried forward by her grandchildren, Michael, Andrew, Anthony, Razzon, and Christina, and her great-grandchildren, Marisol, Dominic, and Remi. She will also be deeply missed by her cousins, Billy and Gary, as well as countless friends and extended family whose lives she touched. She is reunited in eternal peace with her dear daughter, Celestine Palazzo. Her memory will forever be treasured by her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Family and friends are invited to honor Gloria’s life on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home (For GPS, please use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306). Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, N. Arlington.
