In Loving Memory of Gregory Vincent Mallen
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved friend, brother, and uncle, Gregory Vincent Mallen, who passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, surrounded by love. Born in 1968 in Cleveland, Ohio, Gregg spent most of his life in New Jersey, where he formed lifelong friendships, created treasured memories, and found the place he proudly called home. Though he valued a quiet and private life, the impact he made on those who knew and loved him was immeasurable.
Gregg was a man of quiet strength, unwavering integrity, and a gentle spirit whose actions always spoke louder than words. He found happiness in life's simple pleasures—a hearty plate of pasta, discovering new places through travel, and the comfort that music brought to everyday moments. He had a lifelong admiration for tigers, whose quiet strength seemed to reflect his own, and he never outgrew his appreciation for the wit, imagination, and friendship found in the pages of Calvin & Hobbes. Above all else, Gregg treasured time spent with his family and friends, loving them with a quiet steadfastness that will never be forgotten.
Gregg is lovingly survived by his longtime friend, Robert Sciarrone; his sister, Vicki Mallen Lilley, and her husband, Jeff; his sister, Sheila Mallen; his brother, David Mallen, and his wife, Terri; along with numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and a great-great-niece and great-great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Vincent and Martha Mallen, and his cherished nieces, Amanda Kraynak and Angelina Mallen.
Though Gregg preferred a life away from the spotlight, his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. We are profoundly grateful for the years we shared, the laughter around the table, the journeys we enjoyed together, the music that filled so many memories, and the unwavering love he gave so freely.
May we remember Gregg whenever we gather around a table with good food, hear a favorite song, smile at the sight of a tiger, laugh over a favorite Calvin & Hobbes comic, or set out to discover a new place. In those simple moments—the ones he treasured most—we will find his spirit, his warmth, and the memories that will forever remain in our hearts.
He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.
