Haemchand Ramnauth

Haemchand Ramnauth passed away peacefully at his home in Jersey City on March 11, 2026. He was 76 years old.

Haemchand was born on August 14, 1949 in Canal #1, Guyana. He spent his early years there before beginning a journey that would take him to Jamaica and ultimately to Jersey City, New Jersey, where he made his home for the remainder of his life and built a life centered on family, hard work, and generosity.

A man of dedication and intellect, Haemchand began his professional life as a high school teacher in Guyana. He later pursued a career in accounting and became a Certified Public Accountant. Over the years he held several respected positions, including serving as an Audit Manager for Laparken Shipping Company in Guyana and later working with Tush Ross in Jamaica. After moving to the United States, he continued his professional career in New York City with Proof Apparel. Throughout his life he was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to providing for his family.

Outside of his career, Haemchand enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved watching cricket, was an avid reader, and rarely missed an episode of Forensic Files, a show he greatly enjoyed. Those who knew him will remember his warm spirit, quick smile, and outspoken nature. He was a happy, loving, and caring man who always put his family first. Generous by nature, he was a giver who took pride in making sure those around him were cared for and happy.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Bhagpatie Ramnauth, lovingly known as Jean; his devoted daughter, Sherry Rahaman Foster; his cherished grandchildren, Natisha, Junior, Sasha, and Shania; and his treasured great grandson, Caleb. Also surviving are his loving siblings, Sonan, Sonlall, Sheila, Puntie, and Rolie. 

He was predeceased by his beloved son, Sean Ramnauth, and his dear siblings Walter, Shirley, Lillie, and Liala.

Haemchand will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, wisdom, and love for his family will remain in their hearts forever.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home, 3205 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City, New Jersey. For GPS directions, please use the funeral home parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City, New Jersey 07306.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Cremation will follow at Machpelah Cemetery in North Bergen, New Jersey.

His life was a testament to dedication, love, and generosity, and his memory will continue to live on through the family he cherished so deeply.
