Hermito Esperanzate passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, at the age of 79.
Born on July 15, 1946, Hermito lived a life defined by quiet strength, dedication, and a deep love for those around him. He worked for many years at the Internal Revenue Service until his retirement in 2015. Even after retiring, he remained active, continuing to prepare tax returns for his many friends and family members.
Hermito was a devoted member of St. Aedan’s Parish, where he served as a minister of hospitality, a Eucharistic minister, and an active participant in numerous parish organizations.
Above all, he valued family and found joy in the simple moments shared with those he loved most. Hermito will be remembered for his steady presence, his kindness, and his unwavering willingness to be there for others. Whether through his words, his actions, or simply his presence, he left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was predeceased by his beloved son, Paul. He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria; his son, Raymund; his daughter-in-law, Amelia; and his cherished grandchildren, Haley and Jacob. He is also survived by extended family in the Philippines and around the world, as well as many dear friends who will continue to honor his memory and carry his spirit forward.

Family and friends are invited to attend and honor Hermito's memory on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City. (For GPS navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street). Funeral Mass is on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 10:00 AM at St Aedan's Church, in Jersey City . Entombment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City, New Jersey.
