Iris Vilma Solivan, 74, of downtown Jersey City; formerly of Salinas, Puerto Rico; entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. She was born to the late parents, Enrique and Amelia on March 8, 1947 and traveled to New Jersey at a young age where she became a lifelong resident. After high school, she became a business owner of a grocery store, and built her life up. She dedicated herself to working hard and made many memories for her family in the house she grew up in. She is a devoted parishioner of St. Mary’s Church. Iris was a mother figure to all having worked in the child care services and loving nanny for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, walking around outdoors, and spending time down by the Waterfront taking many splendid pictures. She also enjoyed sharing her culinary creations with everyone on Facebook.
Iris is the beloved mother of Eric Solivan and his wife, Trina; Frankie Solivan and his wife, Stacy; to the late, Annette Solivan; and to her son, Luciano Dinguis; cherished sister of Enrique Ramos, Betty Ramos, and Lisa Modesto and her husband, Rafael and niece, Kayla; beloved grandmother to Justin, Jeremy, and Dylan; and great grandmother to Tobias. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City, NJ. Funeral is Monday, November 22, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 254 2nd Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302. Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, 823 West Side Ave. Jersey City, NJ 07306.
