Italo Crincoli, 87, of Jersey City, NJ passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, after a valiant battle with cancer. Italo was the president and founder of Samson Stone Company of Jersey City, NJ along with his deceased nephews, Frank and Stanley Mazza.
Italo, affectionately known as "Mr. C" was born in Vallata, Avellino, Italy to Emelio and Angiolina Crincoli (nee Minervino). His family immigrated to America in 1951 to downtown Jersey City where he lived with his oldest sister, Antonina and her husband, John Mazza.
Italo left his mark in the Hudson County community and tri-state area along with his nephews, Frank and Stanley. As a master mason, he was involved in defining projects such as the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, the Jersey City Waterfront Walkway, the Port Authority and the commencement of the Journal Square Redevelopment, among many other significant projects.
Italo was married to his love, Ingrid Schall Crincoli who predeceased him in 2006. He was also predeceased by his sister Antonina and her husband, John Mazza and also his many siblings including Antonio, Natalino, Stansilas, Vito, Carmine, Rocco, Salvatore "Paul", Gennaro "Gerry", Dr. Rosario Gerard Crincoli and Domenico Crincoli, along with his sisters-in-law Giovanina, Loretta, Maria and Mariangela, along with his dearest nephew, Allan "Big Al" Harrison.
Italo is survived by his sister, Pasqualina Mesbah and sisters-in-law, Dr. Eugenia Vottea Crincoli, Carmelina Crincoli, Maria Spaltro and Anna Crincoli. He is also survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews who he adored and cherished, including Maryann Mazza, Janice & Shaune Swift, John & Diane Mazza, Michele and Darin Marra, along with many great-nieces and nephews and their loving families.
Uncle Italo is also survived by his loving niece and caretaker, Angelica Mazza Harrison, Erik and Jennifer Harrison, Nicole and Rudy Garcia and their children, Matthew, Alexandra, Andrea, Nina and Frankie, along with Frank Mazza and his wife Dena and Michael Mazza and his wife Amanda.
Italo was a wonderful human being, husband, uncle, great uncle, brother, brother-in-law and friend to all. He was successful in life and endeared by everyone he knew. Mr. C enjoyed taking many trips to Atlantic City with his family and his dear friend, Nicky Baccile and later continued enjoying playing cards with his loyal caretaker and friend, Willie Dobson.
Visitation is on Sunday, March 27, 2022, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306. Funeral will begin at 10:00 AM at the funeral home and a Funeral Mass will follow, 11:00 AM at Holy Rosary Church, 344 6th St., Jersey City, NJ 07302. Entombment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery & Mausoleum, 225 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover, NJ. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) and Senior Spirit of Jersey City (www.seniorcare.com), 675 Garfield Ave., Jersey City, NJ 07305 to expand a wonderful senior program.
