It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of James "Jimmy" Joseph Kennedy. Jimmy leaves behind a legacy of love as a devoted husband to Colleen Kennedy, a cherished father to Meaghan Kennedy, Ashley McGraw, and James Kennedy III, and a proud, adoring grandfather to Reilly Kennedy, Gregory McGraw, Greyson McGraw, James Kennedy IV, Aidan Kennedy, and Annalisa Kennedy. He is also survived by his 3 sister's; predeceased by his 2 brother, mother Theresa Kennedy and father James J. Kennedy, Sr.
Born on December 3, 1954, in Jersey City, NJ, Jimmy grew up in a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. He then met Colleen, the love of his life, and together they built a beautiful life over the course of 40 years—creating a tapestry of cherished memories that will live on forever.
Known to many as "Choo Choo Jimmy," his love for the railroad was evident throughout his life. He dedicated many years as a conductor for PATH and later as a lead line supervisor at the Hudson Bergen Light Rail. His passion for his work was only matched by his warmth and kindness. Jimmy was the type of man who gave freely, loved deeply, and made everyone around him feel like family.
His infectious smile, his joyful spirit, and his selflessness will never be forgotten. Though he is no longer with us, Jimmy’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. He will be missed more than words can say.
