Janet E. Maslo, age 81, of New York, New York (formerly of Jersey City, New Jersey), passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024. She was born on August 11, 1942 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Eleanor Maslo and late William Maslo. Janet was also predeceased by her husband, Paul Grosse, and brother, Steven Maslo. She is survived by her nephew William Maslo and his wife Kara, nephew Christian Maslo, and sister-in-law, Joyce Maslo. Janet also had a special place in her heart for her many loving cousins, Peggy Mazza and extended family, and treasured friends Barbara, Audrey, and Anny Mary.
Janet was a graduate of St. Nicholas Grammar School and Dickinson High School in Jersey City and The New School in Manhattan. Janet enjoyed a long and rewarding career at WPIX Channel 11 News, where she developed many cherished and lifelong friendships.
Janet was a world traveler that loved to visit new and exciting places but also the peace and tranquility of gardening at her home in Upstate, New York. She was the family genealogist and would spend countless hours researching her ancestry. While working at WPIX, Janet developed a passion for photography, a hobby that she mastered.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Riotto Funeral Home, 3205 Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ (for GPS navigation, it is best to use 14 Stagg Street as the address). An inurnment will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Frank S.
