Obituary

Jean E Belviso, aged 70, peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 24th, 2023, at her home. Originally born in Elizabeth, NJ, she was raised in Union, NJ and spent her life in Jersey City, NJ.

Throughout her life, Jean worked for the Jersey Journal and also served as a Bayonne crossing guard. Her favorite sport was football, with a special affinity for the Green Bay Packers. She held a deep love for her family, children, and grandchildren, finding immense joy in being a grandmother.

Jean is preceded in death by her children's father, Dennis Gaughran, as well as her father Peter Belviso, mother Jean Knoeringer, brother Joseph Belviso, and longtime best friend Romeo Johnson (Chico). She is survived by her boyfriend, Louis Caperino and her beloved children: Thomas Gaughran, Christina Lewis, her husband George Lewis Jr., Kathleen Brown, her husband James Brown Jr., and Robert Koprowski Sr. Her grandchildren consist of Robin LaBrutto (husband Joseph LaBrutto), Robert Koprowski Jr. (fiancé Alexandria Rivera), and Gabriel Duran, along with great-grandchildren Brayden, Dominic, and Rafael. She is also survived by two sisters, Christina Grodek and Jaqueline Mazelewski, as well as a brother, Robert Belviso.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, from 1200 PM  to 4:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home (For GPS please use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg St., Jersey City, NJ 07306. Cremation will be private.
