Jean Coviello, 96, a lifelong resident of Jersey City passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2020.
A Lincoln High School graduate, Jean was a proud resident of the Marion Section, a devout parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and dedicated to her family. She enjoyed spending time on the front porch greeting neighbors and was a member of Me and My Friends Club. Jean loved the dogs she had in her life; Fluffy, Streaky, Dusty, Joshua and Tuffy. She enjoyed cooking for her family especially on Sundays and made great meatballs and pepperoni bread. Jean was very proud of her Albanian heritage and kept up with the cultures, making valya bread and other specialties of the country. An avid NY Giants and NY Yankees fan, Jean as a teenager cherished meeting Babe Ruth and the picture taken of them.
Jean was the beloved wife of the late Nicola Coviello; devoted mother of Lois Coviello Martin, Geno & Fran Coviello, Gail & Jack Waltz; also survived by 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; loving daughter of the late John DeVita and Estelle Schilizzo; dear stepdaughter of the late August Roncoli.
