Jeanette Carol (Belka) Libitz

Jeanette Carol (nee Belka) Libitz, a lifelong resident of Jersey City, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, July 18, 2022.

Jeanette worked at Meadowview Hospital as a certified nursing assistant for over 20 years. She was originally from Downtown, Jersey City, and settled with her husband in the Marion Section. Later on she moved to Jersey City Heights before retiring and settling down in the Greenville Section in College Towers.

Jeanette enjoyed classical music, especially listening to Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli, cooking, and she was an avid collector of figurines. She took pleasure in socializing with her friends in College Towers, traveling, and spending time with her family. Her family will remember her loving life, and for having made many memories with everyone who were touched by her kindness and caring personality.

Jeanette was born in Downtown Jersey City on August 9th, 1942 to Benjamin & Jean Belka. She was the loving wife to the late John Libitz of 51 years.

Jeanette was the devoted mother to three sons, John S. Libitz, Sr., Leonard and Louis Libitz; dear mother-in-law to Susan Libitz and Gloria M. Libitz; loving grandmother to John S. Libitz, Jr., Jennifer Ellerman, and Giovannina Libitz. Beloved sister to Stanley Belka, Robert Belka, Maria Gasbarro, Christina Eliopoulos, and the late Barbara Mastromonaco, Richard Belka, Jeanie Kilinski, and Lennard Belka; and cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is on Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City.  (For GPS navigation, it is best to use: 14 Stagg Street).  Funeral will begin on Friday, July 22, 2022, 9:30 AM at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Jersey City.

Entombment will take place at Holy Name Mausoleum, Jersey City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
