Joan Vicente Obituary

Joan “Joni” Vicente
June 4, 1952 – June 28, 2025

Joan “Joni” Vicente, a proud native of Jersey City and a spirited presence in every room she entered, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, at the age of 73.

Born on June 4, 1952, to the late Graciella and John "Red" Krynicki, Joni was raised in Jersey City, where she spent her entire life building deep roots, lasting friendships, and a legacy marked by her passion and vibrant personality. She was predeceased by her beloved parents and her brother, Joseph Krynicki.

A woman of many talents and unmatched charisma, Joni was a successful real estate broker for over a decade. Her career was more than just a job—it was her calling, and she approached it with an energy and determination that inspired everyone who knew her.

Joni's zest for life was evident in everything she did. She loved to dance, had a flair for gambling, and never missed a moment to connect with others. Her vivacious spirit, quick wit, and warm heart made her the life of every gathering.

She is survived by her devoted son, Pedro (Pete) Luis Vicente Jr., and her loving daughter-in-law, Jessica Vicente. She was a cherished grandmother to Eriana, Adrianna, Victoria, and Vivian Vicente, and a proud great-grandmother to Dante Smith Jr. and Brielle Hall. Joni also leaves behind her dear sister, Karen Rodriguez, and brother-in-law, Eric “Ricky” Rodriguez; and her niece, Katrina Arveladze—along with countless family members and friends who adored her.

Services to honor Joni’s life will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home& Cremation Company, 3205 Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, and to all those who donated and contributed toward giving Joni a beautiful send-off.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in the cherished memories, the love Joni Vicente shared so freely, and the legacy that will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may we carry her light forward with love, grace, and gratitude.
