John Scales

John Scales, 82, of Jersey City; entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 28, 2023.  John was a very smart man, and was a U.S. Army veteran.  After he was honorably discharged from the army in the 1960's, John worked for the Lehman Brothers Company for over 20 years. John adored listening to music especially Opera; watching movies, especially The Titantic and Gone With the Wind; and anything to do with the arts and entertainment.  He was an avid reader, and loved flipping through the pages of the New York Times.  John also enjoyed eating Italian food.   

John is the beloved spouse of 42 years, Michael Ricciardone; caring son of the late, Hulet and Margaret; a treasured brother of Robert and June; beloved uncle of Jeffrey, Michael, Douglas, Robert Jr., Joy, Francis, Robert, June, Thomas, Guy, Josephine, and Giovanna.  John is also survived by many loving cousins and friends.  

Visitation is Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City, NJ 07306. (For GPS navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street).  Funeral is Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the funeral home.  Funeral mass will take place at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, 3026 Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City.  Private cremation will follow.
