Josefina "Fia" Pena

Josefina Peña, cariñosamente conocida como “Fia”, una matriarca amada y un faro de bondad, falleció el miércoles, 5 de marzo de 2025, a la edad de 97 años. Nació el 29 de octubre de 1927, en Baitoa, Santiago, República Dominicana, y con los años hizo de Nueva Jersey su hogar, donde siguió brindando amor y calidez a quienes la rodeaban.

Le sobreviven sus hijos queridos, Ramona, Carmen, Mayra, Milagros y Pedro Juan, quienes honran su legado de amor y fortaleza. Su espíritu vivirá siempre en sus nietos adorados: Diana, Pedro Jr., Arnaldo, Natasha, Jonnathan, Jake, David, Christopher, Stephanie, Waldo, Raquel, Ashanty y Stacy, así como en sus bisnietos, a quienes amó profundamente. También deja en este mundo a su amada hermana, Ramona Marte, quien atesorará su recuerdo por siempre.

Devota católica, Josefina vivió su vida con una fe inquebrantable. Fue una abuela para todos, reconocida por su bondad, generosidad y su espíritu maternal. Su luz iluminó la vida de quienes la conocieron, dejando un legado de amor y compasión.

Ahora descansa en paz junto a su esposo, Casimiro Peña, su querido hijo, Isidro Peña, y sus hermanos: Aureliano, Ramón, Nicanor, José, Rafael, Ana Rita y Julia.

El velatorio se llevará a cabo el lunes 10 de marzo, de 5:00 PM a 8:00 PM, en Riotto Funeral Home, Jersey City (Para GPS, utilice nuestra dirección de estacionamiento: 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306). La Misa Fúnebre se celebrará el martes 11 de marzo, a las 10:00 AM, en la Iglesia San Nicolás, Jersey City, donde familiares y amigos se reunirán para rendir homenaje a la vida y fe de Josefina.

Josefina será llevada a su lugar de descanso final en su tierra natal. El entierro se llevará a cabo en Caracol, Bonao, Monseñor Nouel, República Dominicana, donde se reunirá en paz eterna con sus seres queridos.

Josefina Peña, affectionately known as “Fia,” a beloved matriarch and a beacon of kindness, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the age of 97. Born in Baitoa, Santiago, Dominican Republic, on October 29, 1927, Josefina built a life centered around faith, love, and family. Later in life, she made New Jersey her home, where she continued to embrace those around her with warmth and generosity.

Josefina is survived by her devoted children, Ramona, Carmen, Mayra, Milagros, and Pedro Juan, who honor her legacy of love and resilience. Her spirit lives on in her cherished grandchildren: Diana, Pedro Jr., Arnaldo, Natasha, Jonnathan, Jake, David, Christopher, Stephanie, Waldo, Raquel, Ashanty, and Stacy, as well as in her adored great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her loving sister, Ramona Marte, who will forever hold her memory close to her heart.

A devout Catholic, Josefina’s faith guided her through life’s journey. She was a grandmother to all, known for her unwavering kindness, generosity, and nurturing spirit. Her presence illuminated the lives of those around her, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and grace.

She is now reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband, Casimiro Peña, her dear son, Isidro Peña, and her siblings: Aureliano, Ramón, Nicanor, José, Rafael, Ana Rita, and Julia.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 10th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home, Jersey City (For GPS, please use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306). A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, March 11th, at 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Church, Jersey City, where family and friends will gather to honor Josefina’s life and faith.

Josefina will be laid to rest in her homeland. Interment will take place in Caracol, Bonao, Monseñor Nouel, Dominican Republic, where she will be reunited with her loved ones in eternal peace
