Joshua Feliciano Obituary

Joshua Feliciano, 41, passed away on the morning of June 9, 2021 in Atlanta Georgia, while sitting in his car after working a grueling 16 hour shift.

He was born on September 16, 1979, at Saint Mary's Hospital in Hoboken, NJ, to his father, Rigoberto Feliciano, and his mother, Maria Feliciano. The youngest of five siblings, Joshua  attended Our Lady Of Grace Elementary School on Willow Avenue. As a young student and bright student, Joshua excelled in all of his classes. Upon graduation, he gained acceptance into Hudson Catholic High School where he played hockey for the Hawks. Unfortunately, midway through his freshman year, Joshua suffered a gruesome ankle injury that ended his hockey career.

Dejected by the news that he would not be able to play hockey again, Josh continued another hobby he was passionate about: skateboarding. He befriended a group of skaters and skateboarders in the Jersey City Heights area who shared the same love and passion for boarding as he did. They would go to different skate parks and practice everyday. Joshua and his friends were really good, and as their love for skateboarding grew, so too did their love for each other: Billy, Terence, Joel, Dillion, Peter, Dorothy, Omar, Angel, Megan, Lauren, Andres, Jay, and the rest of his skateboarding crew would become his second family. There was nothing they wouldn't do for each other.

When he turned 20 years old, Joshua, along with Billy and four of their skateboarding friends, decided to take a leap of faith and venture out on their own. They moved into a rental house in Burlington, Vermont. Joshua loved everything about his newfound independence and enjoyed everything Burlington had to offer.

While living in Vermont, Joshua was reunited with an old girlfriend, Stephanie Nieves, who would later bear his children. Together they traveled the country until finally settling down in Sugar Hill, Georgia. Joshua and Stephanie purchased their first home and filled it with three beautiful children - MaryJane, Joseph, and Journey. Joshua worked very hard as an industrial engineer to make sure his family was provided for.

When he wasn't putting in long hours at work, Joshua enjoyed spending his downtime taking long walks with the kids on nature trails, taking his kids to the skate park, teaching MaryJane how to drive, having late night talks, teaching Joseph how to weld and fabricate metal, or cultivating and growing his garden with his youngest, Journey. He was an amazing Father, and although his relationship with Stephanie didn't last, his relationship with his children only grew stronger.

Joshua is survived by his three wonderful children, Mary Jane, Journey, and Joseph; His loving parents, Rigoberto Feliciano and Maria Feliciano; his beloved older brothers, Jason Cruz, Kyle Feliciano, Hendrick Feliciano, and Robert Feliciano; His girlfriend Teresea and her family;  His dear nieces and nephews; and Joshua's entire skateboarding family. We love you, Josh!! You will remain in our hearts forever!
