Joyce Del Sontro, 91 of Jackson, formerly of Jersey City, entered into eternal peace on July 25, 2024 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
Joyce is survived by her sister Gloria Marczak and sister-in-law Grace Needham, her beloved daughter Cheryl D’Anna (Robert), cherished sons Joseph Del Sontro (Pamela) and Frank Del Sontro, adored grandchildren; Madison and Frank Del Sontro & Joseph Wesley. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her sons, Lenny B. Wesley, Jack “Bobo” Del Sontro & grandson, Eric Wesley, her brothers James “Sonny” Needham & Lloyd “Buddy” Needham.
Joyce owned and operated a custom tailoring business in downtown Jersey City for many years designing apparel for women. She also designed and made cheerleading uniforms for many schools in Jersey City, including St. Joseph’s Grammar School & Dickinson High School. She did a significant amount of charity work including holding annual Christmas parties for underprivileged children. She retired in 1990 from the Hudson County Data Processing Department. After retiring she went on to live a full life, enjoying spending time with her family and occasional trips to Atlantic City.
Visitation on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Riotto Funeral Home.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, July 31st at 10:00 a.m. A Catholic Prayer Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
