Juan Jacobo Mieses, age 80, of Jersey City; entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 6, 2024. Juan was born to Julian and Candida in Haina, Dominican Republic. He later traveled to the United States and settled here in Jersey City. Juan is a dedicated and beloved by many in the community. He worked for over thirty years as a Jersey City Public Worker as an electrician, where he celebrated each day making wonderful friendships. He was the President of Juan Jacobo Old Timers Softball league since 1988 and an avid baseball fan. His long legendary tenure as a baseball player allowed him the opportunity to immigrate to the United States and as a result help many friends and family migrate to a better life in America.
Juan is the beloved husband of Yosis; devoted father of Rosemary, Jacobs, Jovanny, Maridalia and Julissa. He is a treasured grandfather to all of his grandchildren; Leah, Felix, Ygnacio, Sarah, Abraham, Eric, Jeremiah, Mason, Jovanny Jr, and Jaxon. He always served as a role model to each of his grandchildren.
Juan was a man of honor and respect who loved his family those who were blood related and those who he chose as his family. He was a man who always made sure everyone was taken care of.
Visitation is Thursday, June 13, 2024 and Friday, June 14, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City. (For GPS navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street). Funeral is Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the funeral home. Funeral mass is at 10:00 AM at St. Aloysius Church, 691 West Side Ave. Jersey City. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, N. Arlington. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made in Juan's memory to his family.
