Pio G. Caballero Jr, also known to friends and family as Jun, passed away peacefully in his home in Jersey City, NJ on December 22, 2025. Jun was born in Antique, Philippines on Oct 11, 1937. He was a devoted husband, loving father, uncle, grandfather, brother, son and friend to all he met.
Jun was the only son of parents Enriqueta (Geronca) and Pio Caballero, Sr. and is predeceased by his sisters Teresita, Ophelia, Imelda and Gertrude. He is survived by his sister Emalina Somo. He was married for 61 years to his beloved wife Natividad (Gonzalez) from Butuan City. They have four children: Carmenchu Caballero, Karen C. Tayeh (and spouse David Tayeh), Pollyn C. Horvath (and spouse Richard Horvath) and John Caballero. Four grandchildren: Jillian Tayeh, Jordan Tayeh, Ava and Olivia Horvath and great granddaughter Gemma Grace Perales. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and their children, in the US and the Philippines.
Jun graduated from the University of the Philippines with a bachelors in Agriculture but preferred to work in Pharmaceutical Sales for United Drug Co. In 1978, Jun and Naty moved their family to the United States and settled in Jersey City, NJ.
Jun became a successful licensed realtor and member of the $2 Million Dollar Club. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and was Grand Knight for 4 terms. He was an active volunteer in the community including distributing bread to homeless shelters, helping at a nursing home, campaigning for winter coats for children and taught chess at a grammar school. He joined Primerica and received an Excellence Award as District Leader.
Jun was an idealist, activist and writer. He is fondly remembered for his puns and silly dad jokes. He was an excellent tennis, chess and scrabble player and devoted Yankees fan. He was a devout Catholic and loved his church, St. Aedan.

Monday, December 29, 2025, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ, 07306 (FOR GPS, please use parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306. Additional Parking lot is located on Kennedy Blvd.) A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at St. Aedan's church, 800 Bergen Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07306. Entombment will follow at Holy Name Mausoleum, 823 West Side Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07306
