Kevin P. Brandon, 61, of Jersey City, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 26, 2024.
Kevin was born on August 4th, 1962. He attended St. Joseph Grammar School, St. Aloysius High School, and received his Associate in Arts degree in Culinary Arts School from Hudson Community College in its inaugural class. Kevin began his career at The Barge Restaurant in Perth Amboy. He was assistant chef at Pascack Valley Hospital in Westwood, NJ until its closing. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Kevin loved the Giants, Mets, and Rangers. He had many friends whom he'd meet at Monaghan's or the Park Tavern. When he was six years old he helped the parishioners of St. Joseph stop a project that would destroy its neighborhood by singing the theme from “Gilligan's Island” until the Jersey City Council relented.
He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Patricia (Ansbro), and sister Patricia Brandon and brother John Brandon. He is survived by his sisters, Maryann Greiner, Kathleen Raymond (Deloss), and Colleen Flanagan (Patrick), his nephews Brandon Greiner (Heather), Brendan Flanagan, and Cain and Sean Brandon and niece Bridget Greco (Christopher).
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024, 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church, Jersey City. Inurnment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, N. Arlington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kevin’s name to St. Jude Children’s research hospital at: www.StJude.org/donate.
