Kyzoula M. Halkias, 75, a longtime resident of Jersey City, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 18, 2021. She was born in Karpathos, Greece to her late parents, Nickolaos and Irene Karaminas. She is one of three siblings. She migrated to the United States with her husband, Minas Halkias during the early 1970’s, where she took pride in her craft of being a seamstress while raising her four children. She was a “jack of all trades.” She enjoyed doing charitable works for the Greek community, especially her parish, Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church here in Jersey City. She was the president of the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society. Her family will remember her as a caring, kind, and selfless person.
Kyzoula is survived by her loving husband, Minas; her caring children, Irene, Efthimios, Nickolaos, Evdoxia and their spouses; her grandchildren, Michael, Niko, Artemisia, and Alexia; her nephew, Euthimios "Tim," and by her siblings and by many other loving nieces, nephews, and family members. Kyzoula is predeceased in life by her parents.
