Lena Kloby

Lena Kloby, a longtime resident of Hoboken and Jersey City, passed away on  Saturday,  August 8, 2026,  surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on November 1, 1924, in Hoboken, New Jersey, Lena was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Marianna Sgro. She grew up in a large family, where she developed a deep appreciation for family, faith, and the special bond shared between siblings.

Throughout her life, Lena found her greatest happiness in her family. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, and mother who treasured the time she spent with those closest to her. Being a mother and a sister in a large family brought her tremendous joy, and the love she had for her family remained at the heart of her life.

Lena leaves behind her beloved family, Kenneth Kloby, Carol Brown, and Catherine Bautista, who will forever cherish her memory and the love she shared with them.

Lena will be remembered for the love and devotion she gave to her family and for a life centered around the people who meant the most to her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ 07306.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, beginning at 9:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Church in Jersey City. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, New Jersey.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice Nurse Sufina for the kindness and compassionate care she provided to Lena, as well as to Father Rafal Smola for administering the Last Rites and providing spiritual comfort during her final days.
