Leo Perri, age 97, of Jersey City, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
Born and raised in Jersey City, Leo was a proud alumnus of Ferris High School. At the end of World War II, he entered the United States Army and went on to serve his country during the Korean War from 1946 to 1952. He later continued his military service in the United States Air Force.
Following his time in the service, Leo began a long and dedicated career with Bell Telephone Company, now known as Verizon. After 34 years of loyal service, he went on to work in Hoboken, New Jersey, for Wilson Walton International, a corrosion control company in the piping industry, where he continued to share his strong work ethic and experience.
Leo was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Jersey City. His faith was an important part of his life, and he especially cherished the friendship he shared with Fr. Pagnotta, including the many times they enjoyed golfing together.
Leo was the beloved husband of the late Agnes, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Susan Maiorano, Leo J. Perri and his wife Mary, Philip A. Perri and his wife Christine, and the late Nancy Perri. He was the cherished grandfather of Rochelle Esposito, Andrew Esposito, Kathryn Sen and her husband Patrick, Allison, Lauren Connolly and her husband Jack, Kristin Maiorano, Alyssa Leach and her husband Ed, Alexander Gristede and her husband Marco, Nicholas, and Arianna Perri. He was also the loving great grandfather of Rocco Petrillo, Ariella Esposito, Olivia Sen, Sydney Leach, Peyton Leach, and Avery Leach. Leo is survived by his caring siblings, Rachel, Maria, and Andre, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas.
Visitation is Friday, May 22, 2026 9:30 AM ~ 11:30 AM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306. (For GPS navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street). Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 PM St. Joseph’s Church, 511 Pavonia Ave., Jersey City, NJ. Interment will take place at Holy Name Cemetery, 823 West Side Ave., Jersey City.
