Lillian Felix-Roman passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the age of 78.
Born on August 31, 1947, in Salinas, Puerto Rico, Lillian moved to New York City at the age of five before later settling in Hoboken, New Jersey, and eventually Jersey City, where she spent most of her life.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Cristobal Felix and Tomasa Mateo. After graduating high school, Lillian began her career with Equitable Life Insurance Company in New York City, where she worked for 20 years and rose to the position of manager through her dedication and strong work ethic.
Following her time there, she took over her father’s business, the Columbus House and Bar in Hoboken, New Jersey. With a natural understanding of business and a strong sense of responsibility, she successfully ran the establishment until her retirement, continuing her father’s legacy with pride.
Lillian was a good wife and was known for being hardworking, dependable, and caring. After the early passing of her mother, she stepped into a larger role within her family, helping to care for her younger siblings and always remaining someone they could rely on. She took that responsibility seriously and carried it with her throughout her life.
She enjoyed cooking, staying active, and had a sharp mind for numbers. Above all, she valued her family and friendships and was always there when someone needed her. She was also a dedicated Christian whose faith guided her throughout her life.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ramon Roman; her siblings, Norma Iris Arroyo; Christopher Felix and his wife Aileen; David Felix and his wife; Tina Felix; and Richard Felix and his wife Lourdes; as well as her nephews Saul Arroyo, Jr., Flavio Bonafacio Felix, Richard Felix, Jr., Daniel Felix, Christopher Felix, Christopher Sebastian Felix, and Cristobal Lewis Felix. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Saul Arroyo, Sr.
