Loretta Cavallo, 98, a proud lifelong resident of Jersey City, Marion Section passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Peace Care St. Joseph's, Jersey City. Loretta was born in New York City and lived most all her life in the Marion Section. She was a retired shop steward for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
Loretta was a very loving and generous person to all who knew her. She was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Church, Jersey City and enjoyed attending church functions and the annual feast. Loretta was predeceased by her devoted parents, Frank and Theresa Cavallo and all of her beloved siblings; Philomena Carrolli, Antoinette Diana, John Cavallo, Ida Bilotto, Joseph Cavallo, Josephine Mazza, and Theresa Cavallo. She devoted much of her life to the care of her youngest sister Theresa. Loretta is survived by her loving nephew and caretaker, Rocco Mazza and also many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who she loved unconditionally.
Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic and CDC guidelines, visitation in the funeral home and interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington is private. A Memorial Mass where all can attend will be planned at a later date.
