Luz Awilda Rodriguez

Luz Awilda Rodriguez, age 58, of Jersey City, New Jersey; entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 3, 2023.

Today September 17th, 2023, we are here today to honor the life of Luz Awilda Rodriguez and to commemorate her passing into a better place. We have family, friends and close loved ones here to honor Luz’s life. A life that moved on sooner than we all could have expected.

Luz was the beloved daughter of the late, Juana and Benjamin Rodriguez; treasured mother of Alexis and Selena Aguilar; cherished sister of  Madalene Rodriguez, Benny Rodriguez, Wanda Rodriguez, Griselia Rodriguez, and Edwin Rodriguez.

Luz was a kind soul that everyone can love. She was never the type of person to wish ill on another and always tried her best to stay out of trouble. Being one of six siblings, she was always protected by her loving brothers and sisters from her childhood into later adult years. Family has always been a staple to her life. She would often spend her time enjoying herself with her family and friends.

Luz was always well known for keeping her belongings. Sometimes it became a little hard to manage, but she cherished every little item she had. Whether it were gifts from family or simple appliances that she took a liking to. She was always fond of animals; always caring for our pets; making them feel like family too.

After having children of her own, she always urged them to pursue higher education and to strive for opportunities and aspirations that she has not been able to. She always encouraged her family to be strong and keep tranquility. There was always plenty of love to be shared with her loved ones. No words can accurately depict love that Luz has for her children, siblings, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

We are thankful for all who are here today to honor an angel from god. We can be at ease knowing that Luz is now resting with her mother at a better place.

Visitation is September 17, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City, NJ 07306. (For GPS navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street.) Cremation is private.
