Maria Mamaras

On March 17, 2022, Maria Mamaras passed away peacefully at the age 82 surrounded by her caring family at her side as the skies wept with tears of joy.  She was born in Λιτοψορο, Greece where she was the only girl in her family with three brothers.  She migrated to the United States after marrying Nikcolaos Mamaras in August of 1969.  She was a stay home mom who raised 3 loving children and was at their side every step of their lives.  She never learned how to drive, but managed to take her children everywhere.  She was spiritually dedicated to the Greek Orthodox Religion and raised her children that way.  She was actively involved in the church choir at Evangelismos Greek Church in Jersey City.

Maria is survived by her loving husband, Nikcolaos of 55 years. Her children, Anastasia and son in law David, Tommy and her daughter in law Georgina and Billy, and her beautiful grandchildren Anthony, Nicole, John, Gia, and Nicolas.

Visitation is Monday March 21, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church,661 Montgomery St, Jersey City, NJ 07306. Mass will follow.  Interment is at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Johnson's Lane, Sayreville, NJ 08879.
