Maria Carlota Morales

Maria Carlota Morales, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, loving aunt and friend, passed away on August 18, 2025, at the age of 79. She was born on January 5, 1946, in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and later called Jersey City, New Jersey her home.

Maria dedicated her life to her family, embodying the roles of a devoted mother to her children, Victor Morales Jr., Juan Manuel Morales and Monica Morales. She embraced her role as a mother-in-law to Zoila Morales and Juan Sanz-Batista, ensuring that her family was always surrounded by love and support. She found immense joy in her grandchildren-Gabrielle, Mia, Juan, Myles, Juan Carlos, Victor, and Thalia-and her great-grandchildren, Madison, Marcus, Marcel, Tegan and Maximo Ortega. Each moment spent with them was a cherished memory that highlighted the warmth she brought to their lives.

She was a proud machine operator at International Papers in Moonachie, where her dedication to her work mirrored her commitment to her family. Maria had a zest for life, relishing the time she spent with her loved ones and making lasting memories that will be treasured forever.

Maria is also survived by her sisters, Elena Ocana and Maria Cecilia Navarro; brothers Segundo Carlos Zepeda and Raul Zepeda. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love and family will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

Maria was preceded in death by: Carlos Cepeda (father), Luzmila Andrade (mother), Victor Morales Jr (son), Victor Morales (spouse), Ricky Godoy (grandson), Monica Diaz (sister).

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2025, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ, 07306 (For GPS it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg St., additional parking lot can be found on Kennedy Blvd.). Funeral mass will begin 10:00 a.m. at St Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 254 2nd St, Jersey City, NJ 07302. Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, 823 West Side Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07306.
