Mary Grazia Khiry, (formerly Ippolito) 69, of Jersey City, entered into eternal rest, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Saturday, January 15, 2022.
Mary was born to Lucrezia and Tobia Ippolito in Gorga, Provence of Salerno, Italy, on July 2, 1952, where she resided before moving to Jersey City as a child. Mary lived in Jersey City for most of her life and was the owner of Maggie's Mini Market and Deli. She also worked as a full-time substitute teacher assigned to the media center at Hudson County Schools of Technology, where she ran the Jersey Cat book borrowing program and was the Interact Club advisor. Mary was the most loving person, had a heart of gold, and was highly devoted to her family.
Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Selim Khiry. She was the most dedicated mother to her daughters, Maggie Khiry McGuire, Melissa Khiry Bengen, and Dina Khiry Gerbasio, and welcomed their husbands, Ryan McGuire, John Bengen, and Vincent Gerbasio, as her sons. She cherished her grandchildren, Brodie Anthony, Quinn Daniel, Evan Rhys, Selma Grazia, Gianna Grazia, John James, and Anthony Francis, who brought her so much joy. Her dear siblings, sisters Sanitella Santangelo and Elvira Hassan, and brothers Olivio, Joseph, and Johnie Ippolito. Mary is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues, and friends.
Visitation is on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306. Funeral will begin Thursday, January 20, 2022, 9:00 AM at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will follow 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church, Jersey City. Interment will take place at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
