Maximino Maria Obituary

Maximino María, cariñosamente conocido como “Domínguez”, “Chichi” o “Maxie”, nació en Cotuí, República Dominicana, en 1933. Era hijo de los ya fallecidos Altagracia Domínguez “Tatá” y Zoílo María. Era el segundo de seis hermanos, de los cuales dos ya han fallecido. Fue miembro de la Marina de Guerra en Santo Domingo, donde dedicó muchos años de su vida al servicio de la nación y se retiró en 1966. Siguiendo el sueño de muchos dominicanos en busca de nuevas oportunidades, emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1971. Estableció sus raíces en Jersey City, NJ, donde construyó una vida plena y exitosa.

Maxie fue un hombre profundamente dedicado a su familia. Junto a su amada esposa, Lucrecia María, con quien compartió 64 años de amor y compañerismo, sembró raíces sólidas y brindó guía y apoyo incondicional a sus seres queridos. Su legado perdura en sus siete hijos—Nelly, Xiomara, Nancy, Franklin, William, Wendy y Yesenia—, así como en sus 24 nietos y 23 bisnietos, quienes lo recuerdan con cariño y gratitud por el amor y los valores que les inculcó. Además de su esposa y sus hijos, también deja atrás a sus hermanos Juanita, “Bibe” y Juan, con quienes compartió un vínculo entrañable. Su presencia en nuestras vidas ha dejado un legado imborrable, y su memoria vivirá en cada uno de nosotros por siempre. El servicio para celebrar la vida de Maxie se llevará a cabo en el Riotto Funeral Home, ubicado en 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd, Jersey City, NJ 07306, el jueves 1 de agosto de 2024. La familia recibirá a amigos y seres queridos de 5:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. para compartir recuerdos y ofrecer sus condolencias. Gracias a todos por estar a su lado y por mantener viva su memoria. Fue una verdadera bendición de Dios haberlo tenido con nosotros durante 91 años, llenos de momentos memorables y de una vida bien vivida. Su legado de amor y felicidad perdurará en nuestros corazones.

Maximino María, affectionately known as "Domínguez," "Chichi," or "Maxie," was born in Cotuí, Dominican Republic, in 1933. He was the son of the late Altagracia Domínguez “Tatá” and Zoílo María. He was the second of six siblings, two of whom have already passed away. He was a member of the Navy in Santo Domingo, where he dedicated many years of his life to serving the nation and retired in 1966. Following the dream of many Dominicans in search of new opportunities, he emigrated to the United States in 1971. He settled in Jersey City, NJ, where he built a full and successful life.

Maxie was a man deeply devoted to his family. Alongside his beloved wife, Lucrecia María, with whom he shared 64 years of love and companionship, he laid strong roots and provided unconditional guidance and support to his loved ones. His legacy lives on in his seven children—Nelly, Xiomara, Nancy, Franklin, William, Wendy, and Yesenia—as well as in his 24 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, who remember him with love and gratitude for the affection and values he instilled in them. In addition to his wife and children, he also leaves behind his siblings Juanita, “Bibe,” and Juan, with whom he shared a close bond. His presence in our lives has left an indelible legacy, and his memory will live on in each of us forever. Maxie's passion for dominoes and the joy he shared in every game will always be fondly remembered.

The service to celebrate Maxie’s life will be held at the Riotto Funeral Home, located at 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd, Jersey City, NJ 07306, on Thursday, August 1, 2024. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to share memories and offer their condolences. We thank you in advance for your support and expressions of affection during this time of mourning.

Maxie's family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to everyone who provided support and care during his life. Your dedication and unconditional love made a significant difference to our family, especially Ana 'Anita' Crispín and her family, as well as Josefina 'Choco' Gómez.
