Meig Barran Persaud

We are saddened to announce the passing of Meig Barran Persaud, also known as Premchan and Pinto, who passed away on April 5th, 2025, after a short illness at the age of 62. He died surrounded by his family at the hospital.

Premchan was a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Bibi; his two children, Rajesh and Kavito; his daughter-in-law, Francini; and his grandchildren, Christopher and Adina.

He was the son of the late Sydney and Bhagwantee Persaud and the son-in-law of Zabeeda. He is also survived by his siblings: Davo, Paula, Winston, Sudo, Indra (known as Baby), and the late Indera.

Premchan will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to helping others. He cherished traveling, volunteering, and, most of all, spending time with his family. He especially treasured the moments he had with his grandchildren. As a loving husband, father, and papa, he was always ready to lend a helping hand, leaving whatever he was doing to assist those in need.

His generous spirit and radiant smile brought joy to everyone who knew him. Premchan was a hard worker and an excellent carpenter. He enjoyed listening to music, and dancing. Additionally, he was a talented cook and had a fondness for old-time movies. He will truly be missed.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ, 07306.
