Merlita "Toni" Cano

Merlita "Toni" Cano, age 56, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.  Merlita enjoyed playing tennis, knitting, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.  She graduated Dickinson High School, and then from Jersey City State College.  Toni worked as an editor for NBC news for the last 26 years of her career.  

Merlita is the beloved wife of 24 years to Robert Walker; treasured mother of Dalton and Robbie; caring daughter of the late, Arnulfo and Magdalena; a devoted sister of Mayette, Marissa, and Ariel; and a cherished family member to many nieces, nephews, cousins, god-children, other family members, and friends, especially her dearest friend, Kristie Ramos.  

Visitation is Wednesday, October 11, 2023 and Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City, NJ 07306. (For GPS navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street). Funeral is Friday, October 13, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the funeral home.  Funeral mass is at 10:30 AM at St. Nicholas Church, 122 Ferry Street, Jersey City.  Cremation will follow at Machpelah Cemetery, 5810 Tonnelle Street, North Bergen.
